Breast Cancer Screening: Dual-Method Approach
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. KMI uses a dual-method approach — mammography plus ultrasound — which detects up to 30% more cancers than mammography alone, especially in women with dense breast tissue.
Mammography (digital X-ray) detects microcalcifications and structural changes, while ultrasound provides real-time visualization of soft tissue masses that X-ray may miss.
The entire breast screening process takes approximately 20 minutes and is performed by female technicians in a fully private setting.
Gynecologic & STD Screening
Cervical cancer caused by HPV is largely preventable through early detection. KMI's gynecologic exam includes a PAP smear for abnormal cells and HPV genotyping to identify high-risk viral strains (types 16 and 18 carry the highest cancer risk).
The comprehensive STD panel screens for 6 infections with a single blood and urine sample, completely confidentially. Results are shared only with the patient.
Pelvic ultrasound provides a detailed view of the uterus and ovaries, detecting fibroids, endometriosis, and cysts that may affect fertility and long-term health.
