How the Deep Neck Lift Works

Under general or sedation anesthesia, a small incision is made beneath the chin and, if needed, behind the ears. Submental fat is precisely removed or repositioned, and the platysma muscle is tightened and sutured in the midline (platysmaplasty) — eliminating neck bands and recreating a defined cervicomental angle.

The lower SMAS is then elevated and repositioned to support the overlying skin, and excess skin is trimmed and closed. The result is a dramatically defined, youthful neck profile with results that maintain for 7–12 years.
